Story

I'm back in the fight against MND!!!! After a few years away from the climb, this year I am really inspired by a whole crew of new people who have reinvented the event. I'm stoked to be taking part, and also incredibly stoked to not be organising. Gavin and the crew are doing an amazing job and I want to help them raise as much money as I can.

I'll be climbing in honour of my good friend Adam Regal, who was the original inspiration behind the climb. For families with MND as part of their every minute of existence, they know they are up against a ticking clock. 50% of patients lose their battle within 18 months of diagnoses. With such an aggressive timeframe, govt funding for research is very scarce.

Professor Dominic Rowe and the team at Macquarie Uni MND Research Centre are some of the brightest minds working on a solution for MND. It is for them, and their crucial research into extending the lifespan of patients that we fundraise. Previously the Firies Climb for MND has funded trial therapies that show promising results and hold crucial clues to a future without MND. Professor Rowe has a strong desire to make himself redundant and always sticks in my mind as being the person who told me.....

"The only thing stopping MND being cured is money"  Prof Dominic Rowe.

It seems so simple.

For anyone who watches someone they love with MND deteriorate, it is hard to believe we can't fix this with a simple solution. My community have been so generous to this cause so I am only asking for a small amount. If you can afford to donate $10, I would be incredibly grateful.
